I bid on a designer bag yesterday. I only bid $5 over what the last bid was, and there had been like 30 bids on the bag already, so I figured that someone would outbid me. Well, nobody did,
and I won. And I was like, "Oh, crap, I really love that bag, but I shouldn't be spending this money."
The good news is that I got the bag for WAY less than I would've gotten it, but it's still more than I'd spend on a bag.
I kept watching the auction for the last few minutes, sending ESP messages out for someone to outbid me.
yea, a long time ago. but luckily i got outbid eventually. heh.
that's why i tell myself not to spend more than $50 on any item that i am going to buy in ebay.
and this is also why i rather BUY IT NOW if the bidding price and BUY IT NOW is only a few dollars difference, so i cannot regret and i am super sure of what i want.
i recently bought a pair of Chloe shades off ebay and i super love it.
Like I said, I'm getting it for significantly less than the retail price but it's still more than I'd like to pay for a bag. I think that all of my bags are about $60 or less, except for the
one I got with my Nordie's gift card. And now this.
Whip, at least you are not like my roommate in college who would scream, "I WON!!!" everytime she bid and got an item. I was always like, is it free???
nope. Just once I bid and didn't win From then on I only shop the links that say "Buy
Now"

A few times, I have put in a bid before I would leave the house on auctions that ended soon. I assume most of the time, someone will come up and out bid me. Then I come home and see that I
won. Sometimes it's good, but sometimes I think why did I place that high of a bid and now I have to buy it :sucker:
I really like when when I do get outbid and the seller gives me a second chance offer at my price. Usually a lot lower than the auction ended. For example, I wanted this toilet paper holder.
I saw one at Target online that retailed for $49.99. I am not paying that for a tp holder. So I found an auction that was selling similar ones. I even googled the model they were selling and
found it on a site selling it for $35, but it was out of stock. So the auction was at $12, so I put in $15 and left. When I came home the auction had ended at $22, but I had a second chance
offer and got me one for the $15. Now I like it when that happens.
I've never bought a designer bag from eBay before, only vintage.
The listing had a close-up of the Foley + Corinna tag and said it was authentic, and the seller had excellent feedback. If I end up getting screwed, I'll file a complaint through eBay or
PayPal.
I would buy off Ebay but I like to know for sure that I'm going to get what I'm offering money for. I don't want to see something I really want, then get disappointed/pissed off when someone
outbids me.
Great bag, Whip! I once bid on a cassette tape of folk songs that I'd had as a child. I was determined to get it and kept bidding and bidding. I bid up to $90 and then it dawned on me that I
don't even have a cassette player--DUH! By the grace of God I didn't "win" and was outbid.
yes and I have also bid on something over my paypal limit because I was mad at the other bidder for out bidding me. So I just kept out bidding her until I raised it like an extra $40 bucks
for no reason at all and then let her win it. She deserved it though, she waited until the last hour to start outbidding and I was the only bidder for the past 4 days.

A few years ago, I got a call from Jonathan at 3 a.m. "Hey. It's me. I think I just bought a Ferrari." Indeed, he had, and he ended up paying a $200 fee for backing out of the sale. That was
the end of his drunk eBaying.
Nice bag, whip!!!!!!!
No, I always wait until the very last second before I bid. By that time I have really decided I want the item. I feel like if I bid before that, then it just gives time for me and the other
bidders to keep raising the price.
And yes I have been burned buying a bag. I bought a Balenciaga motorcycle bag 3 years ago, authenticity guaranteed, controllato card, dustbag, blah, blah, blah, and a month after I had it the
hardware started falling off. It was a fake and the buyer had disappeared.
I'm super wary buying bags off ebay, they always say authenticity guaranteed and it has tags, even when I'm staring at the bag and I know the designer has never issued a bag of that design
ever in his/her lifetime. They are very good at making fakes.
I've done it. Nothing hideously expensive, thankfully, but I have bid on two auctions for the same thing and ended up winning both. I got tired of losing all the time, so I figured I'd try
bidding on multiple auctions. I don't recommend that. Murphy's Law.
I have two designer bags my mom bought me off eBay, and while I hadn't heard of the other brand until she got it for me I'm pretty sure my Harvey Bag is real. I lurve it. I could light it on
fire, run it over, and grind it in the dirt and I think it would still hold up.
Yes! And it happens waaaay too many times. I'm so damn stubborn and I hate losing, so I
always end up crossing my fingers and praying I don't have to spend $45 on BE foundation!
Haha yes I have - and recently too! A couple of weeks ago I bid £65 for a Topshop leather biker jacket on ebay and instantly regretted it. I prayed I wouldn't win but I did. And when it
arrived and I didn't like it. The stupid thing is that if I hadn't won I bet I'd be obsessing about it and wishing I'd bought it!
I never got into Ebay shopping because I thought once I started I'd buy way more then I needed (as my brother does).
Very cute purse though Whip. When I hear of good finds I'm always tempted...
Yea thats how I ended up with 2 cell phones but it ended up working out cuz I dropped one of them in coffee. Also Hubby bid on a generic digital camera with out checking for online reviews.
SVP apparently there a bad company with sh*t products. I ended up just not paying for it. SO I have an ebay strike but I wasnt about to pay for a crap camera.

Oh, well, at least I'm getting a cute new bag.
1I think this all of the time.
Now that I am addicted to selling my sh*t on there - I hope people bid high a lot!

3This one. In black.

4at least every time i use that site.
even if it is only $5 AHAHAHAHAHAHA. i am not a very
good auction buyer nor a gambler.
my husband on the other hand.
5i never bid on eBay , i'm scared if i'll do , i'll get addicted , so i'm not even gonna try

Awesome bag! But, yes - been there, done that.

11Beautiful handbag. It sounds like it was a good buy.
12It's a very nice handbag Whip; I think you did a good buy.
13About me, I never shop anything about Ebay; my son did.
yup- my $400 burberry bag... im glad i ened up with it though
14so have you gals ever been burned by getting handbags off ebay? i have always been hesitant on buying handbags on there.
15I've never bought a designer bag from eBay before, only vintage.

17Yay for getting the City tote! I'm in
with that bag!
Now I want to go shop for Chloe on ebay.
18CocoChic, I bought my Chloe wallet on Net-a-Porter. It was 50% off. Great deal. You should have a look.
19Yes, I've had that regret a lot but ended up pleased.
20Great bag, Whip! I once bid on a cassette tape of folk songs that I'd had as a child. I was determined to get it and kept bidding and bidding. I bid up to $90 and then it dawned on me that I don't even have a cassette player--DUH! By the grace of God I didn't "win" and was outbid.
21I am ebay illiterate, so I never lose money to that, which is good because I spend enough money on other things already!
22YES,YES,YES,about a half hour ago,i mean i didn't overspend too much but didn't really want it after i bid...now i'm stuck!!
23that's funny, wren!

27Yes! Many times and that is why I don't go on ebay anymore....too tempting!

I don't think anyone is making fakes of the Foley + Corinna bags yet. At least I hope not...
31
Take a good look at a real one and compare when you get yours. Or if your happy with what
you get, then maybe just don't worry about it.
32*one in a store I mean.
